Open Letter to the European Commission

Dear Sir / Madam

I'm a Romanian citizen, I’m not a journalist, but I want to bring in attention to you an intolerable fact of the destruction of the Romanian culture.

I'm an art lover, a music critic, and I express my opinions through this blog of musical criticism "Critica Muzicala" - www.critica-muzicala.blogspot.com

After the big changing of 1989, regarding the Romanian music production, here are not respected the copyrights, author rights or intellectual rights.

The barbarian plagiarism is supported mainly by the gypsy ethnic minority which ignores with nonchalance the international songs authors. They produce and commercialize the stolen international songs, changing only the lyrics, and they doesn't pay any copyrights or author rights.

The phenomenon of plagiarism is an international fact but in Romania it's made with a denigrating taste and no one of the empowered institution doesn't fights against this situation.

If you need official proofs of Romanian plagiarism, I can send to you a official list with dozens of stolen songs produced in the last years by small and big record companies.

And this is not at all!!!

The one of the most frustrating situation is this:

Romania is in a difficult economical situation and it's very important as a new European state to manage with intelligence our country budget. Like every democratic and capitalist people, the Romanian people pays with difficulty the actual taxes hoping to pass faster the economical crisis.

In this time, most of the gypsies artists performs at private events (weddings, baptisms parties, anniversary parties, even funerals…) and while they interpreting the songs (manele called in romanian), their audience literally throw ostentatious the thousands of money notes, without recording any receipt, without recording this disgusting "form of payment"!.

In plus, their performances are not contractual based.

Why didn't they pay taxes for the money received? Why the Romanian State doesn't emit a tax for this form of payment?

They are promoting this miss of culture and kitsch on the public broadcasts like TARAF TV, radio, websites, cd, and others.

I am not racist! This is national known fact and nobody takes attitude, neither the Romanian Minister of Culture - Mr.Kelemen Hunor, neither the Composers Union, or other governmental institutions.

This is an anti-management attitude, anti-Romanian attitude, anti-european attitude, anti-art attitude!!!

This gypsy artists have a mob style organization which suspiciously developing their activity without being disturbed by any government institution...

Please help us to protect with dignity the Romanian culture, and to dovelope our national talents like we did it in the past with Brancusi or Enescu.

Bang

Oare câţi dintre cei care citesc acest blog trăiesc în continuare nostalgia unui pick-up prăfuit, o combină sau un “mag” rusesc, difuzoare bobinate şi răsbobinate, mufe lipite, un radio Pacific, un fălos Akai, un video Panasonic cu VHS, primul televizor color...?

Ehe...vremuri...Trec atât de subtil. Chiar mai subtil decat magnetofonul din planul secund al reclamelor Vodafone….

Vreme trece, vreme vine.

Scriam într-un articol anterior despre viitorul industriei muzicale. Acum revin cu viitorul tehnologic prezentând gusturile mele personale în materie de “scule”.

Este vorba de un super brand danez cu tradiţie în viziuni futuristice: Bang & Olufsen.

Reputaţia lor se bazează pe dezvoltarea unei tehnologii unice, design fantastic, soluţii creative, calitate exceptională şi notorietate.

Au difuzoare cu emisie 360 de grade, au televizoare care-şi reglează automat culorile în funcţie de coloristica camerei, au primile căşti fără emisie de sunet de fond, etc...

Dacă-ţi permiţi financiar să-ţi achiziţionezi un echipament de la ei, echipa vine la tine, îţi studiaza locaţia şi-ţi încorporează tot sistemul audio-video de te trezeşti într-o altă dimensiune.

Această tehnologie este în contrast total cu actualele: mp3, boxe cumpărate la supermarket, combine pătraţoase-plasticoase şi alte lcd-uri făcute pe vapor. Dar in garanţie...Păstraţi chitanţa!

Realizaţi ce desfătare sublimă ar fi pentru urechile şi retinele voastre poluate de bruiajele kitsch-urilor contemporane?

Experienţele unice merită încercate, merită trăite.
